About the defect loss calculator

In knitting, weaving, and dyeing, the cost of defects does not stop at rework and scrapped fabric. Once claim settlements, downgrades, and re-inspection labour are added, the annual figure is usually larger than expected. This calculator takes the numbers you already have and separates that total from the portion inspection can defend.

What numbers do I need?

Monthly claim count, average loss per claim, the number of lines, and monthly output are enough to start. Selecting a process shows only the fields that apply, and rough estimates still give you the right order of magnitude.

What does the result tell me?

It shows the estimated annual defect loss and how much of it is recoverable through inspection. The loss is broken down into claim loss, downgrade loss, continuous-defect waste, and re-dyeing cost, so you can see which item weighs most.

Which processes are supported?

Knitting, weaving, and dyeing, each with its own loss structure. If you run a combined process, calculate with the process that accounts for the largest share of revenue.

Is my input stored?

No. Values stay in your browser and are only transmitted when you request a PDF report. No sign-up and no cost.
